The Nature of the Web Is Flexible
Mindset
Everything about the web is almost flexible.
Do you think having a responsive website with no media query is good? It depends.
Do you think we should use the rem unit only? It depends.
If you have a responsive website without media queries, I can not judge whether it is good or bad. It depends on the context. Also, I can not necessarily say that your website is bad or good. The web standard relies on preferences.
Using the rem unit only can be good or bad. If your website is small, a single page with links to your social media, I think that is good. But people can argue that it is bad depending on the context.
People try to measure how good a website is based on rules like the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). That is fine. Even if your website meets most of the criteria, if not all, its accessibility is not guaranteed.
I can not say that your website is accessible based on one or even many rules or guidelines. In fact, I can not say that your website is accessible because many people use it. For example, Google has billions of users, but some people hate it and some like it. Google never claims that all its web services meet all WCAG criteria. But people can use them. At the same time, some people do not use them because they are tracking their users, and some people do not like to be tracked.
Flexibility is one of many traits of a website. If you understand it, you will be free.
